Diop
Moyes confirmed after the game he's not injured, just didn't want to play in the last two games

Hopefully never see the soppy twat in a West Ham shirt again

Re: Diop
Just didn’t have the aggression or positional sense to be decent enough. Weirdly he seems to get worse over the last few years. As others have said we just don’t seem to be able to develop like we used to.

Re: Diop
Diop seemed inoffensive enough and seemed liked by the other players, but always had a cock up within him.

The worst had to be the one against Brighton when we were 3-1 ahead when he contrived to give at least one goal away.

By comparison, his best two matches were away to Tottenham, when we beat them at their new stadium and the away leg at Lyon.

Good luck to him, but I was never 100% convinced by him.

Re: Diop
I'm actually a bit sad that he's left. Sad because it's indicative of how poorly run we are.

When we bought Diop we were buying potential, potential that never developed. That means we're either shit at spotting potential, or, we're shit at coaching and developing that potential.

I suspect we're shit at both.

Good luck to him.
I'm a bit disappointed.
But Moyes knows what he is doing and will soon get a better replacement in! Won't he?

Re: Diop
Very Moyes to get obsessed by a minor detail like right/left footed CBs. It's as ridiculous as those cricket dickheads that have endless discussions on whether a player should bat at 3, 4 or 5. What a load of old bollocks.

Re: Diop
I blame games like football manager for the left/right centre half thing. Im sure it was never recognised before a few years ago.

Re: Diop
The right-left combo thing can be beneficial in a back two, there's no doubt about that. It gives the pairing a natural balance and each player a preferred side. But it's hardly the be all and end all of being a centre back. Martin Keown could barely stand on his left foot, yet was unfortunately a very good left-sided centre half for Arsenal alongside Adams - and there have been many others, including Bill/Stretch.

Decent centre halves can play in either role.

Diop wasn't even a decent centre half most of the time, which is why he played so few games.

I understand that left-foot/right-foot CB might make a small difference in a back three, but in a back four it's total bollocks and I'd never heard of it being a thing until the past year.

Re: Diop
if he's capable of 1st team football somewhere he cant be 5th choice here, for his own good and ours. Doesnt make any sense for him to stay and waste another year not learning.

I think that was the plan until Aguerd got injured and I dont think he wanted any injuries to scupper his chances of leaving, hence why he didnt want to play.

I think Moyes saying he didnt want to be selected was not really telling the whole story (for obvious reasons).

I dont think Moyes would be upset with him as he obviously knew why things happened the way they did.

Re: Diop
Made easy if the CB you ate referring to is Salazi then I don't get the comparisons. In the game against England for Hungary he was immense. Has played Europa league football, been a mainstay in the fenerbache side and is a more than adequate for Diops replacement

Re: Diop
I had no ill will towards the lilly livered Frenchman prior to his refusing to play. The French love this type of behaviour dont they? If we get him out of the door I hope he breaks his fucking pelvis in his first game. Personally I'd let him rot in the U23s until a foreign team come in for the prick. Fuck him off to downtown Arsecrackistan and see how gets on. No prem for you, cunt.

Re: Diop
Has all the physical attributes, but no football brain and absolutely no defensive instinct. Those physical attributes can mean he looks good at times, but over the course of a season, that lack of nous gets found out big time.

Can't wait till he's gone.

Re: Diop
Diop has often been far too passive in defence. There is no comparison with him and Ogbonna, Zouma or Dawson in the air, and when the ball runs loose in the penalty area he is usually to be seen standing watching a few metres away. I hope that his wages have been docked for refusing to play, when we were already scraping the barrel for someone to deal with Haaland.

Re: Diop
So we are getting rid of a young centre back, who i think is decent enough and will learn with age through his mistakes, to another young centre back that we know nothing about for the same money. Makes perfect sense

Re: Diop
When people say he was played out of position you just mean he played on the left side of the CB pairing?

That isn't being played out of position is it? I never though the CB position had ever been about whether you were left or right footed as its generally a central position.

I think for us the left footed CB thing is a bit of an issue because our LB isnt that good at defending.
So it feels like we double up by having a left footed CB. But I never thought it was some essential thing in football. I also think the left footed CB helps with attack in general but again I didnt think it was a major thing.

Maybe I'm wrong. Does every PL team have a left footed CB?

A shit footballer, who, for the reasons COMS states below, has during his time here done very little wrong off the field.

Re: Diop
We told him he was not wanted, then told him to go to Fulham, so the guys feeling pretty unwanted etc. Then there is a final game before his move that he does not want to play in because if he gets injured the move is fucked and he sits in our reserves unwanted etc. I don't blame him to be honest.

Re: Diop
French player in having a strop shocker.
Diop has had quite a few good games for us. However for the most part he hasnt pushed on from the early top draw performances.
He has been ripped apart in a few games aswell and by lower league strikers, Kewsihi Appiah being one of them for AFC Wimbledon a few years ago

I won't miss seeing pics of him in the background at training jumping on someone's back with a big silly grin and his tongue stuck out.

Good riddance to the cunt.
